FACILITATOR TRAINING

All staff/employees must complete the 12 hour Intro to the Virtues Project (Mastering Growth) AND 15 hour Virtues Project Facilitator Training (Facilitating Growth).

TECH Recruits

Ages 11-12 - focused on the safe use of technology with an introduction to project life-cycle and robotic logic.

While developing the skills needed to solve real world challenges, this group will begin laying the foundation of their digital legacy becoming stewards of respectful and careful digital interaction.

Participants will learn to maintain comfortable, inclusive, environments where ideas and excellence can thrive. Meets once a week for 2 hours, includes snacks and refreshments.

Typical weekly agenda:

  1. + Grab a snack (10 mins)
  2. + Vote on 2 activities (5 mins)
  3. + Split group for activities
    (40 mins)
  4. + Switch groups (40 mins)
  5. + Clean up (10 mins)
  6. + Self-evaluations / facilitator acknowledgements (10 mins)
  7. + Virtues pick or Ted Talk (10 mins)

TECH Unleashed

Ages 13-17: focused on creating a pipeline of locally connected tech talent. Participants collaborate on service projects for the community which helps participants recognize opportunities and gain a reputation for their skills.

While the community service projects are the glue that keeps the group focused on developing their tech skills, participants also get instruction on project and time management, leadership and team building, public speaking, research, and industry networking.

They are the only kids (under 18) allowed in the Technology Center without a parent or guardian. The participants will help set the tone by welcoming people, giving tours, and keeping the equipment in order which helps them interact with the community, gain experience, and become known for their tech skills.

Typical weekly agenda:

  2. + Whip around (10 mins)
  3. + Project work
    (40 mins)
  4. + TED Talk or Video (15 mins)
  5. + Chill/play time (20 mins)
  6. + Clean up (10 mins)
  7. + Virtues pick  (15 mins)

Project work and chill time can be interchanged depending on the group mood. 

TECH Connect

17 and over: This is an opportunity to explore the cross between technology and personal interests. The projects can lead to job opportunities, promotions, side gigs, and entrepreneurial endeavors.

Our facilitators assist with project management and connecting with the community.

This group meets once a week for 2 hours to collaborate on various tech projects in service to the community. 4 day passes are included per month for participants to work on their projects.

TECH Launch

17 and over: For want to take time to set and get moving on their next career goals.

The program is 15 hours per week for participants work on their self-specified goals and certifications using technology to hack their career/entrepreneurial goals.

Participants will set their own goals and meet with a mentor once a week. They will receive the 12 hour "Intro to The Virtues Project" which is a program recognized by the United Nations and helps build professional communication and leadership skills.

Each week includes mentoring by a Boundless Connections certified facilitator and tech instruction in the effective use of various technology.

Program includes tech training, mentoring, connection to experts in the industry, membership to the technology center, the cost of certification, exams, and tutoring

Typical weekly agenda:

  1. + Review last week/this week tasks (1 hr/week)
  2. + Project work (12 hrs/week)
  3. + Virtues training (1 hr/week)
  4. + Tech tutoring (1 hour/week)

Tech tutoring can be split into multiple sessions as needed. 

TECH Legacy

For Retirees: This group meets once a week for 2 hours to explore and integrate tech with their lifetime of experience in an industry.

Our facilitators listen carefully to participants experiences and ask the questions on how tech plays a roll in advancing the industry.

4 day passes per month are included for participants to work projects and connect with other members in the TECH Center.
